This project aims to explore the nature of generative collaborations that occur in teams in the context of Enterprise Social Media, develop predictive models of the antecedents of different types of generative collaborations, and develop a Cyberinfrastructure for Smart Innovation that will empower groups to achieve their generative goals in a more productive manner.

The project is funded by the Cyber-Human Systems program within the Division of Information and Intelligent Systems, Directorate for Computer and Information Science and Engineering
Our project was awarded an REU supplement in 2016 and we have successfully hired two new students to help bridge the gap between social and data science in the context of enterprise social media research. Learn more about our new hires under Research Team.
Best Paper Award
Dr. Van Osch, Dr. Steinfield, and Dr. Zhao won the Best Paper Award in the Digital and Social Media Track at the 49th Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS), Kauai, Hawaii, USA, January 4-7, 2016.
